Large panels, so the pattern is not interrupted every 600 mm.
Travertine is a horizontal material: the banding runs across the wall. Cutting it into small modules breaks the banding at every joint, which is the fastest way to make an expensive material look cheap.
NKSTONE travertine look panels are cast at 3200 × 1600 mm, covering 5.12 m² per panel, in 20, 25 or 30 mm thickness. The large format keeps the vein continuous across the elevation, reduces the joint count and lowers the number of anchors per square metre.
Why format matters more with travertine
A 600 × 1200 module cuts the banding every 600 mm. On a strongly banded travertine the eye reads those breaks as errors, and no amount of joint detailing hides it. A 3.2 m panel carries the vein across the wall and puts the joint where the design chooses rather than where the module forces it.
| Module | Panels per 100 m² | Joints per 100 m² |
|---|---|---|
| 600 × 1200 mm | 139 | About 210 m |
| 1200 × 2400 mm | 35 | About 100 m |
| 3200 × 1600 mm | 20 | About 60 m |
Handling a 5.12 m² panel
A 20 mm panel at 42 kg/m² weighs about 215 kg. That is a vacuum lifter or a mechanical frame, not a two-person carry. It also means the installation sequence and the access plan are part of the specification, not an afterthought.

Questions buyers ask
- Where can I buy large travertine look panels?
- From the plant in Yunfu, Guangdong. Standard panels are 3200 × 1600 mm in 20, 25 or 30 mm; samples are free with freight paid by the buyer.
- What is the largest single panel?
- The standard format is 3200 × 1600 mm. Curved and bespoke sections can be cast to a project drawing, with the size limited by mould, handling and transport.
- Is a large panel harder to install?
- It needs lifting equipment, but it needs fewer brackets and joints per square metre. The net effect on programme is usually positive once access is planned.
