Judge the sample the way the wall will be judged.
A sample on a desk under office lighting tells you the colour. It does not tell you the texture, the weight or how the face behaves with a splash of oil.
We send a physical sample of the chosen shade in both the open-pore and filled faces, free of charge, with freight paid by the buyer. Judge them upright against the actual wall, at the time of day the room is used, and put a drop of oil on each to see how the face behaves.
What to do with it
What a sample cannot tell you
Banding across a 3.2 m panel, how the joints land, and how the colour reads at 20 m. Those need a mock-up panel or a rendered elevation. For projects above a few hundred square metres, we recommend a full-size mock-up of at least one bay.
Questions buyers ask
- Are samples free?
- Yes, the sample is free and the buyer pays the freight. We send both faces of the chosen shade so the surface decision can be made in the hand.
- How long does a sample take to arrive?
- Usually a few days by courier, depending on the destination and the customs route.
- Can I get a full-size mock-up panel?
- Yes. A full panel or a one-bay mock-up is quoted with the project, and it is the only reliable way to judge banding and joint layout.
